英國每日郵報報導，30歲的哈利王子計畫在今年退伍，投身野生動物及自然保育公益活動，並將在非洲居住「相當長一段時間」。

另據倫敦標準晚報報導，消息人士透露，曾兩度赴阿富汗前線爭戰的哈利已考慮退伍多時，雖然這個決定對熱愛軍旅生活的哈利來說相當艱難，但哈利覺得已到了離開的恰當時機。消息人士說，哈利退伍的確切日期尚未決定，但「預期很快就會宣布」。
