澳洲統計局周四意外公布，7月份貿易赤字7.65億澳元 (7.01億美元)，逆轉了6月份貿易盈餘 2.43億澳元的情形，也不及經濟學家預期。

經濟學家先前預期，經季節調整後，澳洲7月份貿易盈餘 1億澳元。

7月份出口與前月持平，但進口上升4%。

過去一年因商品價格下跌和礦業投資減少，具豐富資源的澳洲經濟已放緩，為了刺激礦業以外的產業活動，自2011年後期開始，澳洲央行已8度降息，但迄今成效有限。
