金鶯隊再度上演單場三轟煙火秀，包括Chris Davis本季第48號紅不讓，以4比0打垮白襪隊。金鶯隊先發投手Scott Feldman完封，努力保住搶外卡機會，白襪隊則苦吞8連敗。
Davis全壘打領先全聯盟，打點123分暫居第二，落後老虎隊Miguel Cabrera的130分。另外，Davis如果再擊出兩發紅不讓，就追平Brady Anderson寫下的隊史紀錄。
這是金鶯隊連兩天敲出三支全壘打。「沒有誰上場時，會想著要敲全壘打，」Davis說，「我想，這是因為大家都知道，已經到了緊要關頭，所以更積極找尋正確的擊球點。我們需要盡可能贏球，球季來到這裡，大家的奮起是很重要的。」
金鶯贏球的另一個關鍵，則是投手Feldman，整場比賽只讓對方攻佔得點圈一次而已，毫無威脅。「這是我第一次完封，像是這種事情，我會永遠記住，」Feldman說，「贏球很重要，無論我投9局、還是投7局，只要贏球都是好比賽。」
這是金鶯隊本季第一場完投，上一位完投的金鶯隊投手，是去年6月16日的Jason Hammel。Feldman雖然今年5月1日也曾完投，但當時他還為小熊隊效力，自從7月2日被交易後，他為金鶯隊先發11場，拿下5勝4敗，本季戰績則是12勝10敗。 (接下一頁)
