中國大陸北京在開年元旦，竟然刷新了歷史記錄，在北京自1951年起有氣象記錄以來，昨天最高氣溫竟高達12.8℃，成為63年來的最高溫元旦。而過去，北京的元旦平均最高溫度是1℃，北京元旦的日平均溫度更只有負2.9℃，昨天的暖陽造成26.5萬市民到城裡各公園曬太陽。

北京市氣象台指出，高溫原因主要是沒有冷空氣進入，而且濕度小，光照好，白天升溫就快。

其實，不僅僅北京如此。據中國氣象局統計，到昨天為止，大陸中東部大部地區氣溫都在穩步回升中，不少地方都度過了一個溫暖的新年，昨天武漢、長沙的最高溫都達到17℃，也刷新歷史同期 (15.7℃、16.7℃)紀錄。

不過，到了這個月5日至8日，北京可能迎來今冬的第一場雪。在去年入冬之後，北京至今仍未下過雪，而自1951年後，北京只有5次是等到跨完年後才降雪，這次又再次發生這種情形，而過去的5次中，2010年的冬天甚至要到2011年的2月10日才下雪，打破歷史記錄。
