2年前遭綁的美國記者柯迪斯獲釋。

2年前在敘利亞和土耳其邊境遭極端武裝劫持的美國記者柯迪斯已經獲釋放。半島電視台報導，柯迪斯獲釋是卡達折衝努力的結果。這是繼日前美國記者佛里，被伊斯蘭國殺手殺害後，成功營救被綁架記者的事件。

柯迪斯星期日晚在戈蘭高地的一個村莊被移交到聯合國維和部隊手上，聯合國人員為他進行身體檢查後，將他轉交給美國政府代表。

美國總統國家安全事務助理賴斯證實，柯迪斯已於當天獲釋。他稱，柯迪斯目前已經到達敘利亞之外某個安全地方，預計很快能與他的家人團聚。

美國國務卿凱瑞在聲明中說，美國運用「所有可用的外交、情報和軍事工具」，讓在敘利亞境內遭挾持的其他美國人得到釋放。
