南投縣長李朝卿因貪汙案被停職，還在南投地方法院審理中，李朝卿的妻子簡素端決定代夫出征，年底參選縣長，簡素端下午通知支持者，明天今將到南投縣選委會領表。

年底的南投縣長選舉，藍綠分別提名立委林明溱，和前立委李文忠，二人勢均力敵，選情緊繃。簡素端投入選戰，對南投縣長選情會有影響。
