基隆新站6月啟用　「外觀像歐洲的車站」

基隆火車站新站工程今年6月完工啟用，將是全台首座半地下化車站。

今日出版的《聯合報》報導，基隆新站將原來車站南移到忠一路南側，月台向北延伸250公尺。鐵路局運用工程技術將部分鐵道隱置於中山一路拓寬路面下，是全台第一座半地下化車站。新站南出口可通往基隆廟口、成功市場及安樂市場商圈，增設鄰近港區的北邊出口，方便接駁西岸碼頭兩岸直航旅客及國際郵輪旅客。市長林右昌昨視察工程進度，他說，火車站外觀很像歐洲的車站，未來將是基隆的門面。（即時新聞中心／綜合報導）
