委內瑞拉在8強賽以5比3逆轉擊敗墨西哥，晉級四強後委內瑞拉將與中華隊或南韓交手，委內瑞拉總教練Rafael Herde表示，有可能派出王牌Aaron Bracho先發主投。
Rafael談起與墨西哥的對戰，他說：「前幾局表現不好，晉級到八強後每支隊伍都很有實力，前面有些疏忽，好在後面有發揮。」
委內瑞拉前3局一籌莫展，直到換上代打Carlos Fernandez才在4局下打破鴨蛋並逆轉戰局，Rafael說：「會派Carlos代打是因為他有潛力。」
Rafael這一把賭對了人，也帶動隨後幾局的士氣，最後便以5比3贏球晉級四強，將和中華隊、南韓的勝隊碰頭，Rafael表示：「之前有在電視上看過中華隊比賽。」
被問到中華隊表現如何，Rafael則是笑著說場上見真章，至於，先發投手則有可能派出Bracho先發。
Bracho在與美國交手時先發上陣，最快投出130公里速球，是委內瑞拉擊敗美國的大功臣，此役能擊敗墨西哥，Bracho也是守住勝果的投手之一，假使中華隊順利晉級四強，面對Bracho可得謹慎應對。
