國民黨副主席兼秘書長曾永權31日與台北市專職黨務幹部進行座談，面對明年七合一北市議員選戰，曾永權強調需以「務實提名，當選席次極大化」的原則，讓當選席次最大化。
曾永權表示，會有這樣想法，主要是上屆選舉中，往往第一高票「落選」的都是國民黨籍候選人，這次會要求市黨部，朝儘量減少提名，避免瓜分票源，以多上幾席的想法來提名。
國民黨上屆選戰中，表現最亮眼莫過於第4、5、6區，分別是中山大同、中正萬華與大安文山，由於國民黨在上次選戰中大獲全勝，因此明年的提名人數變動應該不大，但增加席次的第1與第2區（士林北投與南港內湖），則考慮讓新人來競爭，選情較複雜的第3選區松山信義，由於議員王鴻薇重返國民黨，因此可能還需進行評估。
曾永權也坦言，明年選舉會是艱苦的一戰，但他說，儘管外界唱衰國民黨，認為執政民調不好、經濟不好，但國民黨沒有悲觀的權利，特別是經濟指標在今年第三季出現綠燈，只要經濟變好，民眾對國民黨依舊有強烈的信賴感。
最後他也強調，雖然有人說國民黨現在很低迷、很悶，但也因如此，更需要大家相互激勵，全力以赴。目前輔選列車已經啟動，希望參選人提前佈署，更要提前輔選。
