根據人民網報導，目前格林瓦爾德居住在巴西，他在向巴西議會國際關係委員會報告時並未講述掌握在他手中的美國政府的秘密文件。
格林瓦爾德因公布愛德華‧史諾登關於美國國家安全局的大量秘密文件而出名。有關史諾登洩密的美國『棱鏡』計劃，正是英國《衛報》首次根據史諾登提供的文件撰寫了相關文章。
