美國白宮20批評埃及臨時政府逮捕穆斯林兄弟會精神領袖貝迪的作法不當。白宮發言人指出，此舉與軍方承諾將推展「相互包容的政治程序」背道而馳，而且也與美國所希望的保障人權標準不符。

針對美國是否停止對埃及的軍事援助，白宮官員表示，歐巴馬政府仍在檢視各種選項。
