美記者佛里遭伊斯蘭國份子斷頭的影片令國際社會震驚。佛里生前的雇主，新聞網站「全球郵報」執行長巴柏尼20日出面說，伊斯蘭國份子這個月曾向佛里的家人預告他將被處決。

巴羅尼說，「我們曾與匪徒接觸」，而且一度感覺溝通進入釋放人質的協商階段，但匪徒後來不再與他或佛里家人聯絡。
