中非共和國衛生部官員13日表示，在距離首都班基（Bangui）90公里的保利地區發生一起重大車禍。目前為止已造成35人死亡，另有數十人受傷，多人傷勢嚴重。

這起車禍發生在11日，一輛載有數十人的卡車從班基開往鄰國喀麥隆的路上翻車，車子翻入路邊水溝。據了解，車上的乘客大多是商販，他們當時乘車去喀麥隆進貨。

官員表示，卡車司機因為超車才導致翻車，應對這起事件負責。目前仍有不少傷者在醫院搶救，死亡人數可能還會再增加。
