復興航空的不幸事件，讓飛航安全與乘客如何自保再度成為焦點。多益測驗聽力裡面也常出現機上廣播的內容，以下用中英文交錯的方式，讓大家同時學習搭機安全的常識以及其英文說法。
我們先從登機前的注意事項開始吧：
Wear long pants, a long-sleeve t-shirt, and sturdy, comfortable, lace-up shoes（盡量穿著長褲、長袖T恤與堅固、舒適、綁鞋帶的鞋子）
長袖長褲可以保護皮膚不被立即燒傷（burned），棉質（cotton）或羊毛（wool）尤佳，因為這兩種材質比較不易著火。尼龍（又翻作「聚脂纖維」polyester）材質就不太妙了，易燃（flammable）又容易黏在皮膚上（stick to your skin）。讓人跑不快的衣著，如西裝、窄裙（tight skirt）、涼鞋（sandals）、夾腳拖（thongs）與高跟鞋（high heels）都不是好選擇。
例句：Even though you’ll go straight to a meeting after your arrival, you should not wear suits on the plane for safety reasons.（儘管妳到達後就要立刻去開會，但在飛機上還是不要穿套裝，以策安全。）
Book the right seats（訂好位子）
所謂「好位子」是指靠近逃生門的位子（seats close to the emergency exits），而靠走道的位子（aisle seats）又優於靠窗的位子（window seats）。至於有一說是機尾的位子優於機頭的位子，是假設失事時機頭著地較多，但許多人對此存疑（skeptical about it）。
例句：Rich as he is, Ralph never flies first class because those seats are the nearest to the nose of the plane.（有錢如Ralph從來不坐頭等艙，因為那些位子最接近機鼻。）
登機後又該注意什麼呢？
Read the safety information card and pay attention to the pre-flight safety speech and demonstration.（熟讀安全資料卡，並注意聽起飛前的安全講解與示範。）
現在大部分安全資料卡都以圖解（illustrations）取代文字，所以很好懂。

由於飛機有許多不同機種，因此逃生門位置也不同，需要特別注意。
例句：Sandy always looks for emergency exits and begins to plan escape routes when she gets on a plane.（Sandy一上飛機總是先找逃生門與規劃逃生路線。）
這位Sandy如果是華人，搞不好會被說她觸霉頭（call her a jinx），但不怕一萬，就怕萬一。不想犯眾怒（offend other passengers），低調一點（be subtle）就是了，但該做的還是要做。
