【楊逸民／綜合報導】金鶯在第4局終於開砲！6棒捕手魏特斯(Matt Wieters)在2人出局、一壘有人情況，擊出個人本季第14號全壘打，幫助金鶯隊以2比1 領先。
 
第4局金鶯3棒馬卡奇斯(Nick Markakis)率先上場，被皇家先發山塔那(Ervin Santana)三振，4棒瓊斯(Adam Jones)擊出二壘強勁反彈球，結果皇家二壘手蓋茲(Chris Getz)又出現守備失誤，讓瓊斯攻佔一壘。
 
第5棒戴維斯(Chris Davis)在1好球2壞球情況下，被山塔那連續2顆滑球吊中被三振。但2出局後，捕手魏特斯相中山塔那正中直球，一棒撈出右外野2分砲，幫助金鶯逆轉取得1分超前。
 
7棒哈迪(J.J. Hardy)最後是擊出中外野飛球出局，但金鶯打完4局上半，反而以2 比1超前比數。
