不小心擦撞到路邊汽車(贈點10)

如題...我本身滿二十也持有駕駛執照!

今天晚上12點多在回家的路上,在自家村子裡開車,

剛好右轉彎時不小心右後照鏡擦撞到停放在路旁的轎車,

且轎車有被刮傷自家後照鏡也被撞壞!

因為當時沒有直接報警且車主也不在現場,

只有幾個在外頭喝酒聊天的叔叔伯伯過來關心,

於是他們就教我留下連絡電話還有姓名及車牌離開,

請問事後車主若打電話過來我該如何回應...
還是要交給警方處裡比較好?
雖然都是村內人但還是很怕對方獅子大開口...
