Sony因為駭客威脅，取消上映有關北韓電影的「名嘴出任務」，而美國也指控就是北韓涉及駭入Sony，但20日平壤反控美方誹謗，還說希望和美國一起聯合調查，要證明自己並沒有參與Sony的駭客攻擊。

北韓在新聞播報裡提到：「我們提議與美國一起進行聯合調查，拒絕美國發動公眾輿論、對北韓做出毫無根據的毀謗。」

北韓中央通信社報導，北韓強調可以證明自身並沒有參與駭客行動，更不會對無辜的戲院觀眾發動恐怖攻擊，但同時卻也威脅美國，表示華府如果不同意聯合調查，又要繼續指控北韓的話，就要面臨「嚴重後果」。
