Jason Maxiell現為自由球員，根據《ESPN》報導，奧蘭多魔術已將他簽下，經驗豐富的他，使得魔術未來在前場多了一位可用之兵。
美國時間週四，魔術隊總管Rob Hennigan對外公佈這則消息。
現年30歲的Maxiell，發跡於「汽車城」底特律，上季也為活塞隊出賽72場。事實上他是在2005年的選秀會上被活塞隊相中，而至今8年的職業生涯，也全都奉獻給底特律活塞。
由於Glen Davis目前處於術後休養的狀態，6呎7吋的Maxiell將擔任中鋒Nikola Vucevic的替補，魔術隊希望他能勝任大前鋒或中鋒的角色。
2012-13球季，Jason Maxiell身披活塞隊戰袍期間，場均可攻下6.9分、摘下5.7籃板並送出1.3次阻攻。
