香港跑馬地警署昨(21)日發生警員舉槍自殺案。40歲高級警員早上執勤期間失去聯絡，同袍搜尋約4小時後，發現他頭部中槍昏迷，倒臥在警署更衣室內，救護人員趕到時他已沒有生命跡象。警方事後發現遺書，認為他是用佩槍朝太陽穴開槍自殺。
據香港《明報》報導，自殺的高級警員陳亦文，現年40歲，未婚，1992年加入警隊，家住柴灣；2012年被調到跑馬地警署，隸屬軍裝巡邏小隊，疑近期正受經濟及情緒問題困擾，需要服藥物治療。
陳21日被編為「D更」(特別更)，早上10時上班。至11時許，同袍因發現陳失蹤，便透過無線電聯絡他，當時陳有回應，但其後再度失蹤及無法聯絡，同袍隨即展開搜尋。
警方在陳的儲物櫃內發現一封遺書，內容透露近期不開心，相信陳是以佩槍自殺，目前朝欠債方向偵辦。
2008年金融海嘯爆發後，香港警隊有超過200名警員沒有能力償還債務，導致部分警員被迫持槍尋短，當時香港特區政府針對警員過度借貸問題加強輔導工作，以避免危及警隊運作。
