美國籍的羅特曼和謝克曼，以及德國籍的蘇德霍夫三位生理學者7日以研究細胞如何組織本身的輸送系統，榮獲今年的諾貝爾醫學獎。

瑞典諾貝爾委員會發表聲明說：「透過羅斯曼、謝克曼和蘇德霍夫的發現，揭露了精準控制的細胞貨運運輸系統。」

醫學獎是第一個頒發的諾貝爾獎項，三人共得800萬瑞典克朗（120萬美元）獎金。（路透）

據報導，最新出爐的2013諾貝爾醫學將得主James E. Rothman是美國耶魯大學 （Yale University）生物醫學系教授、細胞生物學系教授兼主任、化學系教授。Randy Schekman則是加州大學伯克利分校（ University of California Berkeley）細胞和發育生物學教授、霍華德─休斯醫學研究所研究員。

早在2009年，湯森路透 （Thomson Reuters）就預測他們會獲獎。湯森路透是使用量化數據來預測年度諾貝爾獎得主的機構。
