【葉國吏／綜合報導】明世宗朱厚熜信奉道教，也深愛道士理論的「房中術」。

今日出刊的香港《蘋果日報》報導，朱厚熜深信每天與童貞處女性交，就可達採陰補陽、延年長壽的效果。因此宮中許多道士最重要的任務，就是為朱厚熜煉製催情丹藥。丹藥有很多種，當中以「先天丹鉛」紅鉛丸最為有名。

紅鉛丸的主要成分，是十三四歲少女初次月經的經血。朱厚熜遂下旨廣招民間秀女入宮，每次數百人，一方面為煉製「丹鉛」提供原料，另一方面也充當他洩慾的工具。在紅鉛丸中，還有中草藥、礦物質，以及用童男、童女的尿煉製而成的秋石。靠著這些催情藥物，朱厚熜瘋狂地對少女們進行採補，許多幼女被折磨致死。
