去年打破日本職棒單季全壘打紀錄的Wladimir Balentien，在今年的交流戰，被破解了！原來，能夠壓制Balentien的，就是DH。

DH不是太平洋聯盟隊伍找來的投手，而是「指定打擊」。今年交流戰，Balentien擔任「4棒左外野手」的時候，32打數擊出12安打，包括3發紅不讓，打擊率0.375，但擔任DH的6場比賽，19打數僅僅擊出1支安打、沒有打點。

今年交流戰，改由中央聯盟主場比賽採DH，洋聯主場投手得自己打。Balentien在自家球迷面前熄火，養樂多燕迷走進明治神宮球場，卻看不到過去砲聲隆隆的「荷製巨砲」。

Balentien知道自己有沒有上場守備，打擊成績差很大，不想再擔任DH，但總教練小川淳司認為，Balentien速度太慢，守備不怎麼樣，不同意全壘打王的要求。

不過，也有消息傳出，接下來在明治神宮球場的6場交流戰，如果是夜間比賽，會讓Balentien上場守備。他的球棒能夠彌補守備上的缺失嗎？考驗小川監督的調度。
