由於康芮颱風帶來豐沛雨量，將嘉義山區的各種漂流物沖到朴子溪出海口，導致漁民出海意願低落。漁民強調，現在出海捕魚只會「捕」到漂流木及各種垃圾，既浪費油料又做白工。東石魚市場主任吳純裕說，由於漁民不願出海捕魚，即使有出海捕魚，魚貨量也少得可憐，導致8月29日到今天為止，這4天魚貨總拍賣金額只有6萬多元，約是平時單日總拍賣金額的十分之一。
