紐約洋基隊總教練Joe Girardi確定留在邪惡帝國，洋基隊10日宣布，以4年年薪各約4百萬美元留住總教練Girardi，也就是1千6百萬美元的代價，請他再度打造一支勁旅。
一位好的總教練就像是一艘船的舵手，決定球隊方向，也管理好人員配置，當然更重要的是運籌帷幄。
假設Girardi完整「服役」完這四年，他將會完整帶領洋基隊近10年的期間，洋基隊過去曾長期執政的總教練包括，Joe McCarthy、 Casey Stengel、Miller Huggins、Joe Torre。
這幾位總教練幫洋基隊拿下隊史27次中22次的世界大賽冠軍，除了Torre外，現在這些總教練都進入名人堂之中。
洋基隊在Girardi政權下拿到1次世界大賽冠軍，2009年Girardi在他第2年帶領球隊，就幫洋基隊達成不可能的任務。
Girardi2008年開始接手洋基隊，48歲的他再過4天就即將過49歲的生日，洋基隊所送上的這份生日大禮，直接幫他每年加了1百萬美元。 (接下一頁)
