寒冬我不怕／節流不等於降低生活品質

過年期間，奉上「添歲錢」給長輩與「壓歲錢」給孩子們，是皆大歡喜的傳統習俗，人人添得喜氣，興高采烈迎接新的一年。

但是在2008年夏天，金融海嘯肆虐全球，不少企業應聲倒閉。年底，當老闆表示年終獎金只能意思意思一下時，雖然不免有失落的感覺，但心裡還是滿感激老闆的。

當時，我和妻決定維持紅包的金額，不要破壞過節的氣氛，至於撙節開支的方法就是調整生活方式，例如犧牲「血拼」的樂趣，停止敗家、多利用大眾運輸工具、聚餐改在家裡舉辦、不趕首輪電影改租光碟在家欣賞……

實施一段時間後，發現我們的日子其實過得還不錯，減少物慾的追求，並未對日常生活造成困擾。

原來，我們也可以過簡單的生活。而且，在家用餐，看著租來的光碟，其「熱」融融，全家人窩在一起，何懼寒冬來襲！
