氣象局估今年3到5個颱風侵台

中央氣象局預估，今年北太平洋西部海域颱風生成總數為29 到32個，較氣候平均值25.7個還要多，侵台颱風有3到5個，接近氣候平均值3.6個。

氣象局預報中心主任鄭明典指出，颱風的生成受到聖嬰現象影響，目前熱帶太平洋中部和東部海溫有增溫趨勢，今年是聖嬰發展年，西太平洋颱風生成的位置較往年偏東，距離台灣較遠，發展時間長，有機會慢慢吸收海上的能量，發展成強度偏強的颱風，一旦影響台灣，通常都是中度以上的颱風等級。
