英國每日郵報7日報導，美國德州聖安東尼奧市Xenex公司設計出一種機器人，可以在2分鐘內殺死伊波拉病毒。

這種名為Little Moe的機器人，運用強度相當於陽光2萬5千倍的氙光紫外線破壞病毒的DNA，就連伊波拉病毒也不例外。Little Moe可以在5分鐘內，將一間有病毒的房間完全消毒，殺伊波拉病毒只需2分鐘。這具機器人要價10.4萬美元，約台幣312萬元，全美已有250間醫院採用，包括收容第一位伊波拉美國境內病患的德州健康長老會醫院。

由於西班牙出現伊波拉病例，歐洲國家、尤其是與非洲交通密集的英法兩國大為緊張，英國蘭開斯特大學專家警告，英國在本月24日或之前，將有一半機會出現伊波拉病例，英國四間醫院已經嚴陣以待，準備接收患者。
