彰化縣線西鄉本屆鄉長當選人蘇賜木在宣誓就職前病故，依選罷法應重選鄉長，民進黨提名線西下犁村社區發展協會理事長柯耀庭競選。上午民進黨主席蔡英文為他站台助選，蔡英文肯定柯耀庭知識份子的背景，能幫助地方發展，支持他未來將工業區經營的更好，讓青年回鄉工作，透過觀光，吸引外地人前來，今天多名民進黨鄉鎮長、縣議員到場助陣壯聲勢，場面盛大。
