政府拆除大埔農戶，引發不少農民團體的不滿，本週將舉行一連串的抗議行動。有鑒於過去幾次經驗，民進黨今(16)日上午特別呼籲警方，不要再發生執法過當的情況，人民有權益自由表達意見，不應以行政手段進行干預。
根據規劃，農團晚間要在苗栗縣政府前參加「拆政府‧守護苗栗音樂晚會」，接著18日要在凱道舉行「把國家還給人民 818拆政府」行動。
農團強硬表態，要求主事者劉政鴻必需出面公開道歉，同時賠償強拆損害，同時也要緊盯檢調單位，立即調查劉任內所有土地炒作不法情事，同時也要檢視遭拆土地後續使用情況。
民進黨發言人林俊憲表示，馬政府與苗栗縣政府過去處理大埔後續抗議活動，都發生濫權的情形，今晚的晚會與週日凱道活動，希望警方能夠節制。
林俊憲說，過去縣政府以各種理來否決集會遊行活動的申請，這次能夠如期舉行，希望警方不要執法過當，尊重人民表達意見的權利，也希望今晚的集會活動理性、和平。
至於週日的凱道行動，民進黨是否會參與，林俊憲回應，民進黨已透過網路部幫忙宣傳，若主辦單位需要幫忙，民進黨願意提供協助。
