尼克總經理Steve Mills找上門，希望「禪師」Phil Jackson重出江湖，接掌尼克兵符，但遭到禪師婉拒。

消息來自ESPN的Stephen A. Smith。另一名消息人士說，尼克隊有意邀約禪師擔任行政職位。紐約每日報則報導，禪師會在下禮拜宣布動向。

Jackson近幾年多次動刀，一月底宣稱，因為健康問題，目前沒有重執教鞭的計畫。但如果球隊開出的條件夠好，也許禪師「身體會好得快一點」。

什麼是「好的條件」？消息人士說，像是熱火隊Pat Riley那樣的位子，全權打造球隊陣容，在這前提下，禪師願意出馬接任總教練，等到上軌道後，專任行政職，由他人接手兵符。

消息一出，記者當然要去問現任尼克教頭Mike Woodson的想法。「我沒意見，」Woodson回答，「真的沒意見。我還在這個位子上，仍是尼克總教練。我很尊敬Jackson，但對這件事，沒有任何意見。」
