北海水母遭美洲水母毀滅　疑暖化所致

【綜合報導】瑞典科學家近日指出，他們發現原本常在北海(North Sea)生活的「海月水母」(Moon Jellyfish)，最近其數量卻明顯消失，懷疑遭到美洲水母(American jellyfish)大舉入侵，將海月水母毀滅。

科學家指出，疑似因為全球暖化影響，海水溫度上升，讓原本住在溫暖海域的美洲水母，尤其是俗稱海胡桃(sea walnut)的淡海櫛水母(Mnemiopsis leidyi)，也跑來溫度較低的北海水域「爭地盤」，導致「原住民」海月水母不敵大軍入侵，數量銳減。

科學家也指出，若水母數量減少，將會導致海底的海藻數量增加，進而擠壓其他魚類生存空間，最後變成海底生態不平衡。
