亞馬遜 (Amazon) (AMZN-US) 今年9月才推出電子書閱讀器Kindle Paperwhite，但現傳出更新一代的電子書閱讀器明年第二季就要問世。

根據《TechCrunch》報導，更新一代的Kindle Paperwhite高解析度達 300 ppi (目前為212ppi)，也將超越先前自誇為電子書閱讀器產品中解析度最高的Kobo Aura HD。

除了畫面更好，新機種將類似Kindle HDX，比現行機種更輕更薄，且作斜切邊處理，據稱材質將自目前的塑膠改為磨砂玻璃。

但新機種的軟體沒有大幅度升級，雖然如此，據稱亞馬遜正在開發專為該設備設計的字體，將更適合長時間閱讀。

《CNET》對目前的Kindle Paperwhite評價不錯，給予4顆星的優秀評價，這款售價119美元的電子書閱讀器具備更快速的處理器、觸控也更靈敏，但也指出機體輕薄化程度不夠、僅配備Micro USB插頭作為充電用，沒有AC變壓器，以及如果想要無廣告版，還必須多花費20美元等缺點。
