【短片】罹罕病　少年急性肝炎全身無力

【吳慧芬／高雄報導】一名15歲少年，因腹痛、無力與急性肝炎就醫，高醫團隊透過基因診斷，證實他罹患多發性醯基輔酶A去氫酶缺乏症(簡稱MMDD)罕見疾病。在補充高劑量維他命B2後，少年病況才好轉，否則有可能呼吸衰竭致死。
 
高醫小兒神經科助理教授高醫陸續診斷出14個MMDD病例，其中2例在急性發病期死亡。梁文貞解釋，人們粒腺體有如身體細胞能量工廠，MMDD患者因特殊酵素缺乏，粒腺體無法發揮提供能量功能，細胞能量變少時，即可能造成呼吸衰竭、肌肉無力與肝炎全身性併發症，而及早確診，補充維他命B2可改善。
 
醫師指此病發病期從新生兒至40歲成年人都有可能，患者平日可能無異樣，在激烈運動或感冒後等需大量能量時才發病，高醫並發現台灣、中國大陸等華人族群，在致病基因帶有一特殊的突變點c.250C>A，這可提供醫師作為基因診斷的參考依據。
