MSCI拉丁美洲指數第2季受Fed主席柏南克縮減QE談話、巴西民眾示威抗議、標準普爾調降巴西信評展望等利空衝擊，單季大跌16%，在股價超跌下，投資價值浮現，近1個月吸引買盤積極湧入，20檔境內外拉美基金僅1檔負報酬，同類型平均報酬達3.15%，成為近期最強勢的新興市場股票型基金，其中，績效前5名基金近月來漲幅逾4%。
展望後市，台新拉丁美洲基金經理人張菁惠認為，拉美市場股價已過度修正，且巴西經過示威抗議後，政府積極提升營運效能，加快公共建設腳步，可望帶動下半年經濟表現，激而激勵拉美後市的反彈行情，目前可以逢低分批佈局拉美基金。
據Lipper最新統計，近1月績效前3名的拉美基金，報酬率依序為：法巴百利達拉丁美洲股票基金6.29%、匯豐拉丁美洲基金5.23%、台新拉丁美洲基金4.67%。
張菁惠指出，巴西嚴重的通膨問題，使央行在今年逆勢採取緊縮貨幣政策，共升息5碼，是導致股市走弱的原因。不過，就最新的走勢來看，受惠食品、醫療保健價格下滑，巴西6月通膨月增率為0.26%，已較5月的0.37%下滑，也較市場預估的0.33%低，分析師估計，在交通費用不再調漲、食品與服飾價格略微下滑下，巴西7月通膨月增率將進一步下滑至0.15%，將有利於未來貨幣政策的鬆綁，帶動拉美股市的揚升。
就基本面分析，張菁惠指出，巴西製造業與服務業PMI指數均維持在50擴張點之上，表現並不差。據HSBC最新數據顯示，經季節調整後，巴西6月製造業採購經理人指數(PMI)為50.4，為今年連續6個月保持在50以上，且新訂單指數連升9個月。另外，6月企業信心指數由5月的67大幅回升至75，是去年11月以來新高，巴西後市經濟成長動能看好。
