擬參選高雄市長的行政院政務委員兼南部辦公室主任楊秋興，昨（8）日與身兼國民黨主席的馬英九總統會面，楊秋興今受訪說，馬英九要他「全力以赴」。而且馬英九還說，高雄市長陳菊也是帶職參選，所以他也將帶職參選。不過，楊秋興也說，選戰末期要視情況而定。

至於楊秋興何時正式宣布參選，他表示，要等黨徵召程序完成。

楊秋興說，如果有其他人要選，他也「樂於抬轎」，沒有其他人選，他「勇於承擔」。

記者追問，駐美大使金溥聰有沒有跟他討論過，楊秋興表示，他們沒有任何接洽，只曾有一次在高雄火車站碰到握手，微笑致意。

至於擔任過高雄市長的吳敦義副總統有沒有給他什麼建議，楊秋興語帶玄機，「副總統耳提面命，但不能公開！」
