『史諾登』成為熱點人物後，這三個字也被搶註商標。大陸北京一家鴻遠藍翔科技公司向國家工商總局商標局提交申請書，要把『史諾登（英文Snowden）』註冊為一種環保電動汽車機密技術的商標，商標局已受理該申請，但這不代表該商標已獲准註冊。

根據新京報報導，為什麼偏偏要選『史諾登』為電動汽車技術命名？申請公司負責人朱和豐稱，他們『研發的技術與史諾登一樣，集大量秘密於一身，這些機密技術有很大價值』。不過商標專家對此事並不看好，稱可能會因具有不良影響，駁回申請。
